Grazers Ltd

1 Year Industry-led Funded MSc (by Research) Environmental Science: Ref. No. 61

The action of a biologically active pest deterrent product, its activity and the impact on the nutrient components within the plant.

Sustainable control of pests and disease is a key goal for future agricultural production. In this twelve month, Masters by Research project, you will determine the mode-of-action of a novel, environmentally-friendly product which deters herbivore feeding on crop plants.
The project will focus on the interaction between oilseed rape and one or more of its insect pests, as a model to examine changes in plant defence and insect behaviour, in response to product application. In parallel, you will perform dose response tests to optimise application rates, including via access to commercial field trials.

Applicants should have a degree in biology, ecology, biochemistry or related discipline.
