Lancaster University

The Centre was conceived, grown and led by Lancaster University. Lancaster University is a global top 1% institution. Our research has been rated as “world leading” in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, which assesses the quality and impact of research by UK universities.

Lancaster has an outstanding track record of collaboration with businesses, delivering support to over 5,000 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The Centre is located within the “exemplar business engagement facilities” of the Lancaster Environment Centre, one of Europe’s largest centres for environmental research.

"As a fervent advocate of our brilliant Centre for Global Eco- Innovation, I’m interested in supporting the creation of a network of such centres across the globe, scaling up - and building on our current achievements. Through applying eco-innovation principles and promoting concrete actions in the field I’m convinced we can harness the resources of the environment to bring prosperity for all."

TIM CLARKE
Former EU Ambassador, Tanzania

"We got involved with Lancaster University six years ago. We’ve now got far more interesting projects, such as the one with Manchester Airport through the Centre, that we couldn’t actually do if we weren’t based here."
